Hi

I got this GSP, I call Bertie in January 2010, I no longer have the time to keep him (of course he maybe a she, as no way to really tell) . He lives in a 260 litre tank by himself. Unfortunately it's still fresh water and he desperately needs brackish. He's a messy little thing, they usually are as they enjoy live food, river shrimp and large blood worm. He does also eat frozen blood worm and brine shrimp and loves ramshorn snails, that I breed for him in a separate tank.

So,

-Do you have at least a 200 litre tank that he can live in, preferably by himself?
-Are you prepared to move him slowly up to Brackish and maybe onto marine, following good advice from Mr Monks (lots posted already on the brackish forum)?
-Are you experienced enough as a fish keeper?

If you you can give him a good home, you fit the bill and you live closer enough to collect him then please let me know.

Thanks

Fiona

Shame, I have 2 in a 100litre planted tank and they're very happy which I'm slowly making more and more brackish every week, did have a third but he died just after I bought him and he did have one eye and didn't look happy when I got him, only bought him as I didnt want to leave him in the lfs.

Bertie is such a character. He loves ramshorn snails and watching him eat them always amuses me. He's extremely greedy though and I think he would just keep eating till he burst if i let him.

I hope someone can give him the home he deserves, but if not I will change him to brackish and continue to try to find time for him.

Thanks

Fiona

Yeah I'll take him, he'll be in with my two other GSP's they're very placid and have a fully planted tank with lots of little hiding spots, thees a vid of them in the vid section.

Hi

Thats great. Yours look happy in the video. Are they in freshwater?

Where abouts are you located? You could PM me with a number if you like and we can try and sort something out.

Thanks

Fiona

Hi, they're in very slightly brackish water, perfect for acclimatising, mine were in fresh water when I got them so I'm adding a little with every water change at the moment. They've got brighter and brighter in colour since adding the salt slowly as well. Pm'd.
