Grrr Stupid Fx5.

Ok so on monday i changed around the bio media i have in the middle compartments, plug it back in and it works great. I come back today to hear a loud humming noise from the filter either motor or something around the return outlet. So i took the filter apart today thinking that a piece of media might have sucked into the pump area and no media found gave it a clean out and put it back in and the same noise. When i turn the return valve slightly to close not fully about 3/4 open it goes really quiet to what i'm used to. But at the moment i'm sitting here and i can hear it from the room next to me.

Just in case anyone else gets the issue, just try taking the entire thing apart including removing the pump take the impellor out and give it a serious clean, because now its running the quietest i've ever had it.

I have an FX5 running for about 3-4yrs now, I clean the impellor maybe twice a year, I have had nothign go wrong until the purge valve started to leak, I phoned Hagen and they sent me one free of charge and its very easy to replace, I know alot of people moan but I love it..
