What foods are good to encourage quick growth in the above fish? They are very fussy, mostly they'll only take bloodworm, lance (which I don't have ATM, all I have is smelt which they won't eat) and JMC Catfish Pellets. I've tried prawn, mussel and squid, but they won't take those either. I'm trying to get the delhezi to the same size as the senegal as soon as possible, both him and the eel could do with fattening up a bit, and the sooner the dwarf giraffe cat and the P. Guttatus are full grown the better. Oh, and anyone got any idea how big striped peacock eels get in captivity? And how fat they should be?

Try chopped earthworms, few fish will turn them down and they are full of protein.

The JMC high protein granules are good as well but may be a little small for your fish as they are designed for bulking out fry.

Hmm, earthworms might be a hit. Specially if they wrigge a bit. What about mealworms and wax worms? Or do they float?

Ive never tried mealworms or waxworms so i wouldnt know.

Some will float some will sink, but only my tyre track eel has eaten super worms, the rest of the bichirs and cats don't bother with mealworms.

Well yes, but your eel could be mistaken for a boa constrictor that got somewhat confused with evolution :p I put in a few live river shrimp, but they didn't take any notice. I'm banking on getting some live bloodworm tomorrow, that always goes down a treat.

Blackworms are a good choice as well. My eels don't eat anything but blackworms and the catfish should eat them as well (mine do). They live in the substrate waiting to be picked off and won't change into PITA bugs, etc as they are worms rather than larvae
