Hi all
Has anybody ever made holding vats from a wooden frame and pond liner as a very cheap alternative to koi vats? Is it possible or wont the frame be able to take the weight?

LOL
Thats exactly what I had in the fish-house.
Make a box pond frame from 2x2 and line it with chipboard/plywood. line this with polystyrene then insert your liner be careful with the corners let the water take it into the shape. pull gently to get rid of most of the creases. (although you wont get rid of them all especially the corners (such is the nature of the shape).
Trim and make a nice mited edging to hide the liner.
Blue liner is best as you'll be able to see the fry/fish.

Cheers Big C what kind of depth did you have in it. How big were the frames? I am looking at making it roughly 16ft long (12ft with an L shaped bend for the other 4ft) by 1.5ft wide and roughly 3ft deep. I am also planning on having dividers so that I can spilt it up at will if need be. Do you think a 4*2 frame will be strong enough to hold this?
