don't panic i'm not breeding i'm just thinking far ahead. i intend to breed when i'm confident i know enough (if thats possible) to do it right so just collecting the stuff together that i will need.
Is everybody agreed that you need a 40 gallon grow out tank and is this us gallon? what size in foot is a 40 gal tank?

I'm not sure on the dimensions, but I know some people use several smaller tanks to minimise losses from disease. Which is sensible, if your using one 40g and it comes down with ich, you'll loose more fish than if you're using 2 20s and onr comes down with ich.

I've heard that 2 20's or 4 10's are your best bet, but I have never bred.

I used a 28 gallon grow out with my first spawn, but there were only 20 of them, still seemed to have enough room and grew exactly to plan on the growth charts.
