I just bought two oto's for my tank. They are very efficient at removing algae from the tank. It seems that my tank cannot grow as much algae as their appetites need. I have supplemented with blanched zucchini but was wondering if there was any way to grow your own algae.

I was thinking along the lines of taking some tank water and leaving it in the sun. Would this work? i just want to grow some algae to feed to them. any suggestions?

Problem is, most people try to get rid of algae, nt the opposite :/ . A better question would be "how dont you grow algae?" but that wouldent help you much  . Just try your leaving water in the sun idea, but you wont be able to grow it fast enough to feed your oto's. Just buy algae tablets for them, and feed them that. Since their eating the tablets, that should give algae a chance to grow in the tank :)
