But in my searchings for ADF sites, it's mentioned quite a bit as a reputable company. I think they sell African Clawed Frogs, usually. One site I went to had their grow-a-frog for 12 years.

Thanks for the info. I read about it on another message board and the lady said her dd bought it at a school fair 5.5 yrs ago and both frogs were still going strong. I homeschool my kids and would love to get something like this for them (when the weather shapes up) but I had never heard of it (which is weird because I like frogs a lot so why has no one told me? LOL). I'm glad to know it's not a bad deal-I really don't want ACF though. I might email them and ask how big the frogs will ever get. We do have an empty 2.5 gal that I could rehome them to if needed. I even have a 10 gal that is empty but my kids want hermit crabs in it. UGH.

I didn't read all the info they offer, but I do remember them talking about grow-a-frog more than the other sites. Hope that helps.

A few years ago i bought a kit and sent the letter in . They send you the frog as a tadpole and they give the little square cage with food for the tadpole. I still have mine and my friend's mom got one as a present from a kid she use to teach and it is still alive 10 years later.

GrowaFrog is great but you will probably need a bigger home for your frog when it gets to be an adult. They have some large habitats but they are fairly expensive.

Yeah, I wish I liked Dwarf Clawed Frogs. I think it'd be decidely neat to raise a frog, but... uh.. yeah. They aren't my creature of choice.

If my african dwarf frogs ever take it into their head to breed, i might give them a whirl. i know my ghost shrimp want to breed. thing is, caring for bitty small things.. just doesn't do it for me. i can see how it'd be considered cool, though.

I have to admit, I think DCFs are a little creepy.

but maybe it's that picture of a DCF with a goldfish crammed in its mouth that i constantly ran into when I was first researching ADFs, that did it.
