Super bummed! I ordered a grindal worm culture on eBay. It came in with ZERO live worms (I couldn't find any dead ones for that matter either), hoping there is eggs in the soil it was shipped in so I'm trying to get those to culture now. I really wish I could see the way people pack things BEFORE I purchase. This was shoved in a ziplock bag, super super wet soil, put in a poly mailer bag, a piece of paper shoved in and like 6 packing peanuts. So I'd imagine the worms got squished and took a beating from the post office.

Anyone else ever start a culture without and live worms and just relied on eggs?

Wet soil probably drowned them. We kept them in damp peat moss. Basically soak peat moss in water until it's water logged, then squeeze it out and put it in an icecream bucket. Have about 2 inches of peat and add some worms. Put the lid on the bucket and you're done. Feed them on dry powdered baby cereal once or twice a week.

Contact the vendor and tell them what happened, they might send you another batch.
