The first tank I had fish in had algae growing on it months later and turned the water green  , now I have a new 30gal, with no algae in it and it is still green:blink::shout::sick:. did my 2 plants cause it and how do I get it to turn clear?

SEems like you have a bacterial bloom my friend, Doubtfull it was caused by the plants themself. Overfeeding could be a issue, high params is another, bad water quality. Keep doing water changes every couple days probl 30% ones and see if it clears, you obviously have a problem somewhere and you gotta get it resolved.

You could do a blackout where you cover the tank for like 48 hours (making it completely dark) then the greenwater should go away. Remember green water is just free floating algae that's spreading in freeform.

Yea but that's an expensive route and he's not solving the original problem which is causing it

Algae is usually caused by an imbalance between light and nutrients. Too much of either and algae will often take hold. Algae killers/blackouts may get rid of it but it can come back unless you work out why it happened.

Can you give a better description of:

Tank size
Number of fish
Substrate type as in do you use anything special for plants?
Lighting power (wattage)
Fertiliser routine
How many plants/percentage of gravel/sand covered?
