Green.. Waste.

I've changed my comet's diet and has noticed their 'waste' to be a green color. Is this normal when changing their diet so suddenly?

What are you now feeding them? Usually a fishes waste is the same colour as the food as it goes through the gut quite quickly.

Just wanted to add, if your not already feeding pellets, it would be a good idea to start feeding them as they are a lot less messier then flakes and your water quality will improve.

Ok well I've taken a couple pictures.

I didn't notice this before so I think I'm not going to use that brand anymore because I can actually SEE it in one of the white ones..

what a great pic of a fishes gut. It shows how the food just travels straight through and that fish dont have stomaches. It may be the fish is eating all the green and blue flakes if there are any.
I would change to a sinking granular feed if you can get it.

Would you happen to know why his eyes are pure black, while all my others have white around their pupil?

Thats just pigment and a lot of shubunkin fish have it. Its nothing to worry about though and is really common, your fish may well get some calico markings as he gets bigger.
