This is one of my puffers, sorry for the glare on the tank, didn't want to wait for it to go dark!

I didn't use flash for this one!

I want to get into puffers but I am having a hard time with names...

I want dwarf puffers but I have seen them list as green spot dwarf puffers

is there a difference ??

Oh yes indeed.
Greenspot puffers (tetraodon nigoviridis) get to about 5.5 inches (14cm)
They require brackish water and can go to ful marine as adults (but don't have to)

Dwarf puffers (Carinotetraodon travanciricus) get to about one inch (2.2cm) and are strictly freshwater fish.

They do look quite different too, it would be hard to confuse the two.

EDIT: you ca't the difference between male and female with Green Spots!

Grey Legion: Puffers are very rewarding fish! Great personalities! However, LFS' often know very little about them, so its best to go by scientific names!

But actually its more just around the nails that get picked, as a result I have really manky nails!
