I've got a little over 2 wpg and diy co2 in my 29 gallon tank. However, the only type of algae at all in the aquarium is green spot algae on my glass sides. What nutrient deficiency or excess is causing it? I use fluorish liquid ferts as directed.

Potassium phosphate (KH2PO4) is your friend in the fight against GSA. Aim for a level of 1 to 2ppm PO4, assuming you have nitrates 10 to 20ppm.

Check your CO2 levels as well, lower levels can cause GSA as well but its usually phosphate related IME.

I've actually been lazy with my co2 lately, so levels are probably really low. I will also try the potassium phosphate. Where can i get the KH2PO4? Do i need to buy it from a chemical retailer or is it included in a aquarium fert such as flourish phosphate?

Thanks,
Mitch

I'd get it from gregwatson.com. It comes dry so you have to mix solutions, but its way cheaper than using the flourish line of products. I wish I would have found out about the site earlier I spent way to much money over the past 4 years on florish products.

Yeah its amazing 1lb of KH2PO4 from Greg only costs a few dollars and basically thats a lifetime supply once you store it properly.

You will get it HERE
