I just bought my first live plant for my 20 gallon DP setup called green hedge...when i do a google search it comes up as aquarium AND garden plants, will it live...I bought it from petsmart in the planted tank they have. -_-

NO it will NOT live. It is at best a bog plant.

It won't hurt your fish, and in fact will probably be about 3-4 months underwater before it starts showing signs of dying. I did the same thing, bought Cherry Hedge thinking it was an aquarium plant. After I found out, I took it out and my grandparents planted it in their outdoor fishpond, and it's growing quite well. The roots need to be submerged, but the leaves need air.
