Wow good pics. I'm not sure what they are but i had to comment on the pics since my corys won't stay still long enough for me to do anything!

Ahh these were shortly after getting them home, they were in a display tank which is only about a gallon in size. Once they got into a proper tank they would be impossible to photograph.

Thanks for the compliment :flowers:

They look like B. splendens at the transition point between mature juveniles and young adults. They appear to be in very, very rough shape and in dire need of a lot of TLC. No offense intended. - Frank

No offence taken this is how they were at the lf's and the best I could see out of the bunch, lost one this morning but it was one I thought might go, getting fed 3/4 times a day if I can and water changes (lots of BBS and grindal worms and other foods).

From what I have read on brochis these should start to lose the fin colouring soon and go more metallic, fingers that I don't lose any more ... just wish I'd bought more that 6 to cover the possibility that I might lose more, but at the moment they are in their own tank so that they get all the food that goes in there and don't have to compete for it.

Thanks for the ID it seems to confirm the other stuff I have managed to find out on them.

Good luck with them. With a little time and TLC, they should mature into something like this. - Frank

Actually I love them as juvies, just love that top dorsal fin colouration.
I feel the same way. Got rid of my last group, today, as I am much more partial to smaller fish. I just received 200 C. hastatus which have become very hard to find, lately. I'm happy about that. - Frank

Wow 200 Hastatus, only got 4 left out of the group I bought a while ago, as you say they are harder to find nowadays.... if only I can get mine to breed now :shout:

My pygmaeus breed no problem but not managed to get the hastatus or habrosus to do anything apart from scoff food... got a female aspidoras so fat that she can't sit properly without her bum sticking up in the air
