the stuff in my tank has the same properties as the purple coralline algae and is just as hard. dosen't stand out on the rocks but you can really notice it on the glass.

What's your lighting?

There are green corallines, and blue as well. Never seen iehter on the glass.

ice cap ballast with

1 actinic white vho t12

and 2 super actinic blue vho t12's

they put out 95 watts a pice. so that's 285 watts over a 30 gal tank, or 9.5 watts a gal.

built the housing for them myself :good:

It just appears to me like green algae, the tougher type. Its really hard to remove, and I generally remove it by an old credit card on my glass, and the "green" corralline looks like purple, thats died, and been covered in algae, ive had similar stuff when I had some corralline die off. .

Definitely suh a thing as green coraline algae. My tank used to grow it all the time, but its stopped now for some reason (prolly cause I got my phosphates down). Who ever said that calcerous algae had to be purple? :p Perfectly reasonable that its green
