green barb went pale!

hi there,
we have 3 green tiger barbs in our tank & noticed one of the barbs was looking decidedly paler than the rest one day & its fin was looking raggedy. we had dosed the tank with some anti fungal fin rot medicine a few days before (for a fungally danio)& nearly had a disaster ( overdosed it & anaesthetised all our barbs by mistake - a long story i'll tell you about one day, theyve now recovered completely thank god)
anyway this barb is now back to dark green like his pals & we were just wondering what his ailment could have been in case it happens again.
we're pretty new to having finned friends in the house.

This has happened to us before too...
god knows what it is that does it
I have noticed that a lot of our fish are pale when the lights first go on in the morning...

fish will lose their color due to stress. when you turn on the lights the fish become slightly stressed from the sudden sensation of light in the tank. you want to watch out for prolonged stress as this can cause the fish to become diseased.

could it be that this fish is being picked on by the other occupants of the tank?
