Ok, algae is now becomming a problem in my tank. I am using rowaphos and RO water. Will this dissipate? the tank is two weeks old now and I need to clean the glass twice a day. Is there something else I can do, or is it a case of waiting?

Jon

I clean my glass daily, its something that you will have to do regular Im afraid.

The tank is 2 weeks old, this is a normal part of cycling and if its only on the glass ten i would not worry too much. However, if its growingon the sand and rocks then it will need tobe kept in check. What sort of cleanup crew do you have and how many?

1 snail/hermit per gallon of tank is considered the minimum.

I dont have much of a cleanup crew yet, 6 turbo's and three LH hermits, but will be getting some more this afternoon along with some more LR. What do you suggest more snails, shrimp or hermits or mix em up.

Jon

GL is right, dont go mad on the shrimps as these are primarily scavngers and wont really touch teh algae. Snails and hermits as a good choice

Snails will stick to the rocks and glass for food and hermits will use rocks and sand (snails tend to tip over easily in the currents o nsand and can become easy prey for shrimps and hermits looking for new homes)
