Do hermit crabs not remove and eat this? I have two in my tank
k and they aren't eating it, should I scrape it off the rock will it harm my tank in any way?

Like hair algae? I've never seen hermit crabs touch hair algae.
I pick mine off manually about once a week and emerald crabs seem to get a pretty good portion of it.

No Not hair looks like it's the rock turning green perhaps it's the start of hair?

What level are your phosphates at ? I doubt hermits will eat it to be honest

Sorry i don't have a phosphate tester, is there another way to find out? I do 50% water changes every 2 weeks with a sand sift as well. The salt is at 3.0 everything else testing fine ammonia etc. There is just the one clown fish and 2 hermit crabs atm which i may be removing shortly so i can get a clown goby.
