Just bought 3 shrimps at the lfs. They were labelled 'green algae shrimps' which is fantastic because this is exactly what I want them for :good: But I wondered if they had another, more common name? Anyone know anything about them?

Are they actually green? If they are green they could be Caridina cf. babaulti or a less common Caridina sp. "Dark Green"

No they aren't green, they look exactly like amano shrimps

Thanks for the information, very helpful!

Hopefully they will be able to rid me of a bit of algae!

Have a look a www.petshrimp.com

They have a list of about 20 dwarf shrimp, several of these are greenish and look like the Amano, it could be one of these instead.
