Great Blue Crawdad and pirana?

I have two baby piranah in a 5.5 gallon tank. I asked my LFS what could go in there that will clean the tank. He said a blue crawdad... Is this correct?
I told him i'd come back later once i found out more on compatability.

I hope you intend to get a 50+ gallon aquarium for those Piranha, and I doubt they are compatible. If the Cray doesn't go after the Pirhana, the Piranha will go after it.

I read a story maybe on tff maybe not but, someone had some piranah in with some sorta acrayfish the piranah couldn't get into their shells and the crayfhish were too slow, though eventually what happened was the crayfish disapeared i think at least one had crwaled out of the tank, so unless you get anymore info i'd jsut trust the lfs unless you have reason to not

Story was made up then. Piranha can literally eat through bone so I really, really doubt a crayfish shell would pose any problem for one. It would be like a set of hot knives going through butter.

they are just "visiting" the 5.5 till i can buy a 55 long for them in a week.

and at my lfs theres this kid there that always is there when i go. He killed 5 fish that i got once. So i didnt want to trust him.

PS- would a 10 gallon tank be good for a fish thats the size of a nickle now but i think will be about 5inches by the end of the year?
