I just came home from shopping then I want to look at my tank, that I recently cleaned. I noticed that one of my female's gravid spot had changed colors form dark brown to pink. What happened? Did she aboard the fry? :-( What does this mean? I thought she might of had her fry, but i looked all over the tank and no babbies were found.

A few of my guppies have this I know one has had babies I'm not sure which but 2 of the 3 have pink spots now -_-

Don't always go by the gravid spot. Some times it does not change clour and give you accurate predictions. A better way is to look at the size of her and when her belly starts to turns very large then she is going to have fry very soon.

I've had females guppies' gravid spot change like that. Never affected the pregnancy. They still had babies. Is her size smaller, or just the same? That's what you should pay attention to. If she's smaller she's had her babies. They may or may not have survived. They are VERY small and can hide in the gravel and in plants, so look carefully.

it became dark again. Thanks guys.

Thought i would let u know as this may be why the gravid spot changed colour...

Whne you turn the lights out in your tank fro a while, the gravid spot on lots of them goes lighter, when you turn lights back on after being off for a long time the gravid spot appears lighter then will go back darker after about 10 mins (approx).

Why this happens i do not know but it does ;)

Wayne.
