gravel snack

my new handsome beloved male apisto cac has decided gravel tastes nice - i just saw him mouth gaping open with a tiny peice of gravel in there - grabbed my net (not actually sure what i was going to do tho) tried nettin him, managed to uproot some of the good plants (not the bog ones !! ) didnt get him, but he has either swallowed it or spat it not sure which.
seems he was after the corys algae tab remains, which he is still after though seems to be spitting most back out - worried he has swallowed the gravel and has blocked his throat
cant see an abvious bulge anywhere, and his mouth is closed now
not sure what, if anything, i can/should do

except remove the smaller bits of gravel

bummer!

Hi Andy,
I wouldnt worry, Cacs will do a small amount of digging in gravel but they are very unlikely to choke on it. My male helps his female dig a cave under a piece of wood for spawning and hasnt choked yet, but I'll let you now if he does!!
