Well, I've been wanting to buy sand to put in my tank, instead of gravel. I have a 29g tank with 2kg gravel in my tank. It fills up good. but now i want sand. What do I do with the gravel?! ):

I have a 4g tank used for breeding. It has its own gravel.

Anyone can help? im planning to buy a coconut hut (fake) with it and a cave? :)

Comment! :D

Do you guys think I could do a 50/50 gravel sand? if so, how much gravel do I take out? I really want a sand tank.

If you really want sand remove all the gravel. I don't think a mixture would achieve anything.
If you think disposing of 2kg gravel is a waste, there are uses you might be able to put it to.
For eg. I use gravel for drainage in the bottom of all my pot plants.

So... I can put the gravel under plants with roots? helps the-- drainage? how so?

might've been talking about non aquatic plants. the gravel will come in handy some day. put it in a bucket or bag and keep it for later use.

Later use? ex..?

I dont really want that 20 dollars to be a waste. ): I'm twelve, no job, just birthday/holiday savings. No allownace

You could wash it out really well and try to sell it on ebay or aquabid. Lucky for you, play sand is cheap! (I understand wanting to save as much as possible, I'm a college student with very little money too)

Okay, well, Ill buy some sand. :) the extra gravel will be used in future. :D thanks! (ill prolly just sell it to a friend.)

:D :good:
