Gouramis with Wound

My fire gouramis has what looks do be an open sore or ulcer. There is white around it although it isnt fluffy or anything is is skin texture. I am currently treating him with melefix for the open sores. Will it help, it its an ulcer?

i had a dwarf gouramis die a couple of weeks ago
and it looked like its had a wound becasuse it was all red around the tummy, turned out by filter had been blocked for two days. so check your filter and water readings

I hear good reports on Melefix. It should work.

That's a bacterial infection, it seems to attack gouramis in that fashion often,open wounds. Melafix isn't gonna cut it You'll need to pick up some meds for bacteria problems.
