so do these guys go together? and are gouramis less shy in schools of 2 and above?
which ones are more passive red tails or rainbows? and do all these fish go along well with assorted tetras? do corys or flying foxes eat cucumbers too? do they school? if i were to put a betta with my guppies would it kill them?

if you have experience or answers to any of these questions please tell me!

gouramis wont go with guppies from my expereience except for honeys. and red tail and rainbow sharks will ultimitly kill ur guppys aswell.

smaller tetras(i.e neons) should go with guppys and bigger tetras( i,e serpae) should go with gouramis.

and as for ya betta it depends on his personality.

dwarf gouramis? and what does "not get along" with guppies mean? will they kill each other?
fishes are so complicated -

well "not get along" means that the gouramis will nip at the little guppys and eventually they will die. i dont think dwarf gouramis can go with em. trust me just becuz theyre caled dwarf gouramis doesnt necicerily mean theyre dwarf.

oh dear, hmm seems i have a problem at hand,
i have gouramis and guppies! NYOO!!
but it seems it is contrary to what you say,
its actually the gouramis who are scared ####less and hide and school tighter than my gravel, the guppies are fine, they still school looseley and whenever my guppies approach them they run away, but when the gouramis chuck a spazo when they get stressed at the guppies and dart everywhere, then the guppies regroup and move off, well thats for now, but my gouramis are about 9cm long right now and my guppies4-5 cm, im worried about the gouramis though cos the guppies eat their food too, which is kind of interesting, seeing a guppy eat a flake half its size, the gouramis dont seem to mind them eating and just stake out at my pump intake, the guppies hang out at the pump outlet thingy, but man those gouramis are paranoid - one keeps watch constanly and they take turns to keep watch, then they take turns to scout the area slowly and retreat back to their base after 5 seconds, if any guppy wonders near them while they patrol they retreat,

but other than that things seem to be going well in my tank, my baby brislenose is happy and is found sucking of rocks and leaves and my flying fox which im gonna find a buddy for, is happy to swim around and sit on the bottom, both are not affected by the guppies or gouramis,

i was considering getting another gouramis to boost their confidence, but after reading your post i decided i would rather have them peacefully than turn this into a turf war between them, will this kind of conflict happen with tetras too? and can i use paper clips to sink blanched vegetables to the bottom?
