I have 2 small gold gouramis in a 29 gallon tank. They are only about 2 inches long right now. When i first got them they chased each other around the tank occasionally but then swam together sometimes also. They seem to be getting worse and ive noticed that now it is one chasing the other. Im pretty sure they are both female but as they are younger than the pictures I see to compare them to on the net im not sure. I bought them out of the same tank and they where in their with a lot of other gold gourami. If they are both female could i get a male to help keep them under control or will it just add to my troubles.

Can you post pics?

Let me try

Images suck but i couldnt get a good pic they swim around fast

So far the chasing just seems to keep the one tired and on edge but there hasnt been any damage, they sometimes hit the glass going kinda fast

It's hard to tell from the pics but they look like females.
Adding a male will will not guarantee a peaceful tank, I'm afraid, as they can be just as aggressive.
You could try adding a few more plants/ornaments to give the bulied one a few more hiding places and see if that helps.
What other fish are in the tank?

i rearranged the tank, seemed to help some.

The tank has

6 bloodfin tetras
2 gold gourami
1 rubber lip pleco
2 angelicous botia

You may get away with adding another one but I'm not sure I'd risk it.
Without having a definite ID on what sex they are, it would be risky adding a male.
I'm glad the rearranging of the tank has helped a little. Keep an eye on them and if it carries on, it might be worth adding a few more plants.

Re arrange the tank and add tall plants to break their line of sight. This will reduce the chances of them fighting.

yea i'm gona try that, my plants are growing fast so i'm gona keep adding the new sprouts around and hopefully i can get enough cover that they can rest easy. Thanks for the input guys.
