Gourami has a black patch I didn’t notice?

Hello! I’m more to the hobby and enamoured with my fish. I noticed my red gourami has a small “black patch” (?) on his belly. I can’t recall this being there when we got him but I just want to make sure there is nothing wrong.

Mine get that sometimes. Not certain, but I think when the gold morphs of honey gourami (or thick lipped or both) get breeding dress, it sort of shows as black patches.

It means he is horny I think. Is he building a bubble nest?
