I have one male dwarf gourami in my 125 litre tank, would he accept an Angel fish into the tank? There are other fish too, but I know that they are okay companions.

Thanks, Tony

I'd get an Angel bigger than the Gourami> It'll probably chase it for first few days, but it's a fairly big tank size so the room will help. (Are there many plants/ hiding places?)

>Male Dwarf Gourami can chase a fair bit, especially if it's been in tank for a while....

Hope it works out.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The tank is planted, and I'm planning to get even more when my new CO2 system is set up. I will get an angel a little bigger and when I add it I shall re-arrange all the slate and wood so that the two of them will both have to fight it out for territory.

Rossyt99 - I've just looked at your tank profile and you have rummy-nose tetras in with the angels. Is this okay?? I knew that angels eat neon tetras and had assumed it was the same for all that size. The reason I ask is that I have 6 cardinal tetras which I had planned to rehome, but would have preferred to keep...

Cardinals are fine with angels because they are slightly bigger than Neons.

A lot of people have tried buying Angels when they are small and introducing them at the same time as Neons with great success. That's not to say it works for everyone, unfortunately.
As for Cardinals, there is no guarantee that they won't get eaten. I had a customer tell me how his friend brought 150 Cardinals for his 7ft tank and watched them get eaten by Angels. They tried to scoop as many of them out as they could but sadly, thre were few survivors. :/

Ive had 2 dwarf gourami In with 3 angels :)
And had no problems

Yep, the Rummy's are fully grown (2.5inches) and the Angels are Mid-size.
As said before, Cardinals grow bigger than Neons so they should be O.k, assuming your Angels aren't full-size?
