Gotta Love The Petco Buck-A-Gallon Tank Sale

I just picked up my first ever 55 gal. tank from Petco. Cost $55 + tax = $59.06. I have purchased in the past at the buck a gal sale 2x29gal, 4x20L. Gotta love the dollar a gallon sales.

I am trying to own one of each size I fear, so far have had running 2.5, 5.5, 10, 15, 20, 20L, 25, 30B, 33L, 40B, 45, 50, 75 and soon to be 55.

Help me I have my eye on a listing on Craigs List for a new 150 for $150 and its just 30 miles away.

For the other Americans here, the PetCo $1/gal. sale goes through July 16 and is for 10G, 20H, 20L, 29G, 40B and 55G tanks.

Wish I lived in the states, what you pay for a 55G is about £40, over here we'd be paying nearly 10 times that for a new tank.

Me too my mum wants to move to canada, might just take her up on that to take advantage of it!

I thought I did well to get my £1 per litre!!

I have used that $1 per gallon in the past. If I recall correctly it was a very basic tank and my local store charged me the original retail price, calculated the sales tax and then reduced it by enough to get back to $1 per gallon. The end result was that I paid about twice what I expected to pay in taxes on top of that dollar per gallon. The local Petco went out of business a few years back, so I no longer see those sales.
