got to new fish today

that is what I call them anyway these two are mean to each other is that normal?? at first I thought it was where getting use to each other but this isnt the case. When I buy new fish I keep them in the hospital tank for at least a week to make sure they are ok, is that the the right thing to do?? should I put a little medicine in with them and how big do they get.?? I want to make sure that my little ssss are ok.

Qtank or hospital tank are great. In my opinion dont do anything!! Just observe them and look for any infections. Let them get used to your water parameters is the key! Dont mix up the water up by adding Med's. If any health problems do arise then treat them.

i quarantine fish for atleast three weeks. if they show any signs of disease then i treat and start with the three week quarantine all over again just to be sure.

where are you putting these fish?

Are these Kissing Gouramies? I've seen them in some of the lfs here, but don't know much about them. I have heard someone say that the kissing is really fighting, and there is a chance of lips getting ripped...don't know if it's true or not

Where are you putting these fish. I hope you're not putting them in the new tank that you just bought What kind of fish are they? Don't use any medication unless it's needed, there's no point medicating if the fish are not ill !!!!

thanks for all the great advice I will do just as you all said to do. I will be keeping them in the qt tank until I get the new ones cycled hopefully I can use stuff from my old tanks and cut my cycling time in half I will just have to wait and see what happens.

I put them in my 10 gallon hospital tank until I have had them for three weeks just to make sure but that smallest one is about dead the bigger one is whipping him to death I moved him in a breeder thing but in the same tank I will have to take the smaller one back
