Ok today I went out and got a dwarf puffer. He's itty bitty being only 1 centimeter or so in length. I picked up some Malaysian Trumpet Snails and put them in my 29 gallon so they can breed and be a constant food source for him but for the week or 2 before I have nothing to feed him. My seemingly only option is to get some small snails from the pond across the street and clean them and freeze them and feed him those. Will this work? Also what is something easy that I can obtain that will be a good thing to feed him?

Just feed bloodworm. Freezing snails might not work, i've never heard of it done before. Also try cockle, prawn, krill, brineshrimp etc. I've not found that DP's teeth grow fast enough to be too concerned about clipping.

Ok. Since I didnt have any frozen bloodworms on hand I took an almost empty freezedried can and filled it with water and froze it. I'm waiting for it to thaw now so I can feed my DP. And even if I dont freeze the snails, could I just feed him the snails straight out of the pond?

I would not feed him anything out of a pond, who knows what could be growing in that pond or what kind of diseases the snails could have. Too risky IMO.
Why not just head up to your LFS and purchase some small snails. Or go to your local grocery and get some shrimp and feed him those. Its a little cruel to purchase him and not have any food for him!

yea I was kind of hoping that I couldve planned more but he was the only one left and it mightve been my last chance. I'll go and get some shrimp today when I go out for my eye exam. The snails wont cause a problem and I got a few small but he's not interested so I might take them out. Thanks for all the help.
