Hey guys!! This afternoon, I got my water tested, and while I was there, I decided to finally get started stocking my tank beyond my Mickey Platy (I had lost one when I moved last week, and the other was getting lonely.)

My girlfriend wanted a couple of fruit tetras, one pink and one blue, and there were pepper cories in the same tank, so I decided to get 2 of them, too
They all seem happy in their new home, and my platy has some new friends to play with! :D

I'm happy to see that my cories aren't at all shy... they're all over the place, exploring.

Just thought I'd share... I'll have pics soon.

NOO  fruit tetras are dyed (i think) dyed = crule cruel = should be against the law dyed fish suffer durring the process of adding color..and dont keep the color for long and it cuts there life nearly 3/4's of natural span might i recomend some rainbows or some whee on the lines of swords and platies..or perhaps guppie's! never anything that looks un-natural!

Hmm..congrats on your new fish, even if I don't like dyed fish.

There are some other problems though, most if not all tetras much prefer to be in bigger groups, so 2 is not enough, 5-6 is really the minimum in most circumstances. Same goes for the corydoras really, sorry.
How big is your tank anyway? :).

I'm guessing you 'fruit tetras' are just dyed black widow tetras, but check here to find out :good: .
To read up on dyed fish, look here.

If you post pics, we can give an ID too, since the pictures on that website aren't very clear :).

I didn't realize they were dyed, when my gf was picking them out, and had she known, she wouldn't have ever gotten them, either...
But since we have them, we'll love them like any other.
