Well boys and girls, I did it.
I got rid of the Angle fish and got a Jardini.
I think I am in love with him (although he stands in line after the rays)
No longer than 4-6 " right now and got him at an excellent price.

Makes the man happy cause "he eats things". Now the motoro is eating feeders too, really cool to watch those two go after them.

My question is kinda stoopid though. How many is everyone else feeding theirs and what else can I feed him. I was thinking earthworms, shrimp (if he will take it).
Ideas boys and girls?

Hi Earthgirl, you can probably train your Jardini to eat crickets, krill, frozen shrimp, frozen smelt, and pellets. It's still a young arow and training it to eat different kinds of foods won't be too hard.

Oh EG what have you done?!

You might be lucky but when they grow jardini's become mean, very mean. Mine has been ok for the last 2-3 years until recently for no visable reason its gone phyco and has has to be divided off from the other fish until it can be removed into its own tank.

As for feeding they will readily accept any frozen meaty foods, basicly anything the rays eat the arowana should eat too.

I totally knew what I am getting myself into.
I think it will just be the arrowana and the rays in the tank :hey:
I will have to say that this testosterone thing is kinda funny to watch my hubby, his best friend (that he called over to "watch the fish") and my brother in law all standing in front of the tank cheering on the arrowana.

I like him, even though I have named him Bastard and is vicous

The main reason my jardini is in its divided prison is because it was biting the rays tails, keep a close eye on it.

Hi earthgirl....we have just got rid ov our jardini (not my choice but my other halfs) one day he was fine next he flipped. I havent seen such aggression in a fish ever! He was in a 6 x 2 x 2 tank we'd had him since he was 8" all was fine and he grew to nearly 13" just i think you will have probems with him having a go at tank mates....we added 2 and it only lasted a week before he attacked them both. I wish we still had ours and rehomed the 2 cats but the other half wouldnt have it. Good luck and i agree with cfc to keep a close eye on those rays. Mary x

I don't wana get ride of him, but I am gonna say he is gone if he goes after my rays......

I think I am going to talk to Keith (hubby) and try to sell him now before their is a prob.
