i have a 3.4 gallon tank shall i let one betta live there?i got some java fern will it be ok to put in there?i scared that the betta will eat the plant.oh ya,although they breathe in atmospheric air,do i need to put air stone? thats all folks, oh ya if it will be ok, wad type shall i keep(less than $3 us dollars)im onli 11
 
That's a nice sized home for a single betta. He'll love it. You might want to add a small "cave" of some sort--I use small terra cotta planters (available at craft stores for $.79 or so). Veiltale bettas are the most common in the stores like Wal Mart, PetSmart, Petco, etc. and usually cost around $3 - $4. In the "pinned" section at the top of the betta section, there are FAQ that include a lot of good information to refresh your memory about keeping bettas.
 
Yep, a 3.4 gallon with a plant sounds like a great home for a betta :nod:
You won't need an airstone, and in a tank that size you could even get him an African dwarf frog roommate or two
