Ahh, finally I got two clown loaches and once I released them they sped right into the cave. Typical clowns :D . I had to trade them in because my spiny eel had a crooked neck bone and had seemed to be starting something that looked like ich. The store that sold me it traded that one eel for a clown loach and I thought that I had better trade in my rainbow shark as he was causing a lot of trouble and harrassment, so I traded him in for another clown loach. So its 4 angels, 2 clown loaches, my bgk & future plec, and the 2 swordies. Now my tank seems to have a lot more character :smb: , so it is definatly looking more robust :smb: . Gotta love that emoticon! - :smb: :D Anyway I just thought I would let you guys know and is there anything I should be aware of with them? I heard they can sleep on there sides. ANother question - my clowns went straight into my cave and I cannot seem them - when will they come out? How often will I see them with that big cave? Thanks all in advance.

That's great Eelzor! Do we get to see some pics? :)

Charismatic 37 year olds these days :p :D Speaking of which it says ":smb:" for the musclely emoticon. Lol @ that  .

My clown loaches also love  BANANAS, sinking shrimp pellets, sinking wafers treated with garlic drops, etc. My clown loaches hid for weeks until I got a third one. They are now much happier and out all the time. Keep a very close eye on them as they are suseptible to ICH very easily. Two of mine got it after going from the quarantine tank into their big tank. So keep your eyes on them. Also, when they hide it sometimes means they don't feel well. :*) So move that cave after a few days to check for Ich etc. Hope this helps. PM me if you need any more info. I have read every book around about them. I love the clowns. ALSO-go to the Aquarium Photos section and look at the photo titled.........Loachy, Spanky and Jarr Jarr. These are my clowns and the got nominated 3 times for Fish of the Month!!! :kira: :kira: :kira: :kira: :kira: :kira: :kira: :kira: :kira: :kira:
Also check out this web site for interesting info on clown loaches.

Thanks Debo! My clowns are out and about the next morning straight away and are grovelling for food. I fed them some flakes and angels scarfed down everything at the top but lots floated to to bottom too so everyone got there fair share. It when I put a bloodworm cube in the tank everyone in the tank goes into a crazy feeding frenzy. (even my black ghost knife which usually only comes out at night) I'll try feeding plec pellets that I still have from my earlier AE's. THanks for the help too. I realise that they have no scales like my bgk. I think they kind of look better like that but if I can keep a bgk happy, shouldn't be no prob with my CL's. Thanks for the website too.

I recently fed my CL's algae wafers and they started clicking! These are by far one of the best fish I have invested in - I'm going to get 2 more to liven up the tank even more! Hey one more thing - I have seen on the site you told me (Loaches.com) it said somewhere that clown loaches can shoal and make buddies with plecs or they call them there 'armoured catfish'. Does anyone ehre know anything about that, or have any experiences on it? Thanks everyone! Your all so supportive. :D

I don't know anything about armoured cat fish. But you really should get a few more loaches as soon as you can as they will be happier in a shoal. I have three in a 60 gallon hex tank. Isn't it amazing when the click? I love to feed mine wafers that have had a few drops of garlic liquid put on them ahead of time. THEY GO NUTS OVER IT. They make so much noise. They are really interesting liitle guys. I am getting a new tank in the next week and we want to get some clown loach babies.. We saw some really teeny tiny ones at the fish shop. They were the diameter of a PENCIL and about a half inch long. They were sooooooooo cute. I want to see them grow up. We will probably get 4-6 of them.
Anyway..............have fun. They are really fun to keep.

I'll try that then, but if anyone know about that shoaling thing - tell me! :D

Well, if you take a look at my sig a lot, you may have noticed it changes quite a bit. But I have finally set it right. I now have 4 clown loaches, my original 4 angels, my beautiful ghosy ray and my 2 swordies. I maybe changing my 2 swordies for a 3RD eel. I seem to have so much bad luck with them. The first time it died because of me new to the entire cycling thing (Now I noticed how newb I was back then), the second eel was purchased already sick, so this time I HAVE to get it right. I am going to buy from a store I have never bought from before and their eels look very healthy. So just thought I would keep you updated. :D
