Heya, i got a female and male firemouth pair, the femals a bit bigger than my male but they dont seem to want to kill eachother. How do i get them in the "mood" to breed, or do they do it on their own? Also, i got some "target fish" for them. I got two rainbow fish, theyre yellow with a black line. Other than that i have some bumblebee gobies and a bristlenose pleco. --- Silva_Fishy

heat up the water to 80-83, water change and good food. if it doesnt work or they dont show signs in a month then it isnt happening. how big of a tank? rainbows dont make good dithers. gobies are brackish not fresh

he wants to know if theres a chance that his firemouths mite mate

can you post some pictures of your tank please?

It means they are in love. Really, that's part of the ritual. Just sit back and relax. They may spawn, or they may not. Just be patient, keep the water clean and all will be fine.

btw, do they have a nice cave or pot to get in? The chances of success are much higher if they have a fairly private place to get in and lay the eggs.
