Got A V2 400 Protein Skimmer...

Ware do i want the bubble to sit in the cone ??? any other info you can tell me about it would be greatfull thanks

hi gary, when i used to have a v2 400 i had it just above the base of the cone and it seamed the work pretty well . Also it took about 2 weeks to settle and make sure the outlet doesnt get blocked in anyway because it will make the skimmer overflow . I eventually upgraded to a deltec mce300 because i was fed up with the amount of space the V2 400 pump took up in the tank.

Thanks! pump size is not worrying me ! tho the noise is read you can make a silencer tho sooo looking in to that!

No probs, yeh they are quite noisey i turned mine off at night because its in my bedroom. I got ride of the sponge that come with the bubble stop aswell and just filled it with filterwool, i found it works alot better as long as you keep it clean.

yeah mine is in my bed room too , is it ok to turn off at night? i will have to change the filter too then !!

i think some people do turn skimmers off at night, i always have done and never have any problems, some people dont even use a skimmer on smaller tanks.

Cheers mate mines a 510L tank with just live rock at the min but will be going planted !! and fish !! woohoo

if i were you id upgrade the skimmer as the V2 400 will only do up to a 400litre tank, maybe the V2 600
would be better suited
