I am looking in the future, not near but within the next year, to get a river tank.

The River Tank.... in my biology class....

I am wanting to put 1 or two different or same type of frogs in it, that can live in and out of the water.... and I will be putting fish in it, the tank will be planted..... And suggestions on frogs? And any other amphibians that I could put in there?

I was thinking one of these guys?

I was also thinking of putting a turtle in it? but I'm not totally sure, I'll probably have to put a piece of some kind of driftwood and secure it to the molding for the river tank....

But does he need to have a place to "sleep", like he does in this pic or what? I'm getting a Petco just up the road, about 2 minutes up the road... there is a LFS up the road a few miles further.... and I'm not sure either if them will have them... but PetSmart might? Any suggestions on frogs? or places to buy those forgs, like big name stores.... to my knowledge I only have 1 LFS around my area.... Thanks for any suggetions...

it looks lovely, but I'm not sure about the practicalities. I would say it's too small for any turtle in the long run and amphibians eat small fish, so if you don't want the odd fish getting taken I would think carefully about mixing them. It looks like a nice frog tank, I would carefully look into what you want (as you seem to be doing). If you tell us where you are from, then maybe someone in that area can give advice on where to get things, and also because things are banned from different countries it would help us give advice on what sort of animals you can have. which size tank are you thinking of going for aswell? It looks like it could be great fun and very interesting.

I am from the Metro Atlanta area, in the US. I am gonna get it in a 30g size. Just give me suggestions for what kind of fish/frogs are in it. If you look at this website you can see that the guy/gal that owns it has multiple species of frogs, fish, and even a few lizards. But I'm just wondering how big a tank that is... The thing is I will have atleast 2 ADF's in a 10g. But i want some kind of frogs that can live on both land and water.

That is a really cool tank.......not quite sure how they keep their conditions right for so many different species though. Quite a few of them have different requirements such as water temps, lighting, and humidity. The Painted Turtle in there is tiny, but when full grown will be atleast the size of a dinner plate! I have a tank set up with fire bellied toads that is smaller than that one, but set up similar.....I have added fish before and they didn't last long before they were gobbled up! Also, have not ever researched it but in knowing they have toxins....I have never wanted to put any tanks mates with them!

The guy that I borrowed that picture from has several species of everything in his tank.

here's the guys pics of his tank.

In that album it shows a serious variety of everything. And the frog in tha picture i posted was an idea, I just want ideas of frogs/toads I can get from a LFS/Petco/Petsmart/Petland.... Cause I'm not really sure.

Or maybe even a salamander or something?

This all the advice I get for this? haha Tracy has been a big help... I'm now leaning away from the ADF's and leaning towards the Fire Bellied Toads....
