actually, this is the third Goldfish i've ever owned, and the first that doesn't have a bubble-head. the LPS i work at has a monsterous 50g tank filled to the brim with both Common and Fantail goldfish. Commons are all red, white and black, the Fantails are all Calico. this fish had been there since the first time i visited in April, and i've been told he was there for a very long time because he was more than and inch long. he's 3" from nose to tail, and apparently has never grown. he came from a home-owned fish bowl, got to big for the quart bowl and was dumped there. i figure he was stunted, as he hasn't grown, but he's the sweetest little boy i've ever seen.
while labelled a 'Calico' he doesn't seem much like one. he's a pure white with a bit of black to his anal fin, one eye is pure black and the pupil reflects red, the other is silver with a black pupil. he's been named Bigg, even though he's tiny for a Goldfish and will probably stay that way forever, you see i had stunted Goldies that never grew.
he's being kept in a 1g tank (bad me!) with three-day changes until i get him his own 5g tank.
