Hi guys, so I’ve got a massive piece of driftwood and from my understanding it may take a long time to be waterlogged. I think i
going to get some big bits of slate and glue them to the bottom of the root and just leave it in the tank. Does anyone know if the gorilla glue in this link would be safe to use?

don't know about gorilla glue but super glue (cyanoacrylate) is safe when it dries and it dries in a couple of minutes.

you can also use plastic cable ties

Yeah, it’s safe. Their brand of glue is cyanoacrylate

yes, that Gorilla glue is safe. It is cyanoacrylate, same as superglue. I use it. Just let it set for at least 20 minutes before putting into the tank.
But I'm not sure that is the best way for securing a large piece driftwood to slate. I secured my large piece of driftwood to a piece of flat marble by drilling a couple of holes in the marble and securing it to the wood with screws. I then buried the marble into the pool filter sand substrate.

You can also just put a couple of rocks on the top of the wood until it stays down on its own, that is what I have done. If you glue something to it, it will limit the ways you can use it in the future
