I have a 2nd tank I'm toying with now. It's got 7 zebra danios and 3 african dwarf frogs. I had one senegal bichir in it but he died, every bicher i get ends up dieing when they go into the tank i dunno what the issue is. in any case... what's a good oddbal that would be compatible with what's in the tank now? It's a 29 gallon with a heater and stays at about 75 degrees. Thanks!

you do have some options but with oddballs you may end up finding your danio's being dinner even with senegal birchirs....what type of food was you feeding the senny's? also do you have a gravel substrate, they often eat gravel by mistake, although mine is fine and has been for 2.5years on gravel, but you hear alot of them eating gravel by mistake,
What type of fish do you like?
for example snakehead's if your not located in the usa..dwarf snakeheads are brilliant and some max at 6inches...
but tank mates you have will need to be concidered

never saw the bicher eat, sinking pellets and frozen and dried bloodworm were tried... they always die same day i buy them

why can't I have a snakehead in the us?

anyway? other oddballs that might work? also - how would I obtain a snakehead in the us? haha

have you looked into the smaller species of eels? i would say that if a bichir is challenging to you then dont consider an eel yet. they are very picky feeders and you dont see them very often. like said above, many oddballs will be eaten. what oddballs can you get readily?

no snakeheads in the USA because they are an invasive spiecies. didnt you hear about the snakehead invasion near washington dc?? its a threat to the areas natural species because they are so hard to kill, eat everything, and reproduce often.
