I was wondering if the fish that I have are going to work well together? Is there anything that I need to change and will my tanks become overcrowded as they grow?

i think red tailed shark might gorw to big for ur tank..... and otos live in the amazon and need heater..... does the goldfish tank have one if so it will be fine i think so

The red tailed is only supposed to get 4.5" at least thats what I have read. I do have a heater in with the goldfish I keep it around 75. Is that ok, is it going to be ok for the goldfish?

goldfish like colder water, so they wouldnt like the heater. a pleco or even a chineese algae eater might be better, but the CAE do sometimes tear up plants. i dont think the otto will be happy with the goldfish tho. in my goldfish tank i have snails..... :) :p

I got the oto beacuse they only get about 1.5" long and I did'nt want to overcrowd the 10gal. I don't like cae's and pleco's get so big. I really don't want to get rid of him he's such a hard worker for such a small fish. What will happen to the goldfish if I keep their tank heated? I don't want anything bad to happen to them either. I'd prefer not to have snails.

Best not heat the goldfish tank. I would take the risk with the oto because if the tank is a goldfish tank then the conditions should be whats best for them. 75 is way to warm for them. Loose the heater and guarantee your goldfish will become much happier and more active. The otto will probably be ok so long as your tank is at room temp which it should be assuming its not in your garage or something.

I have had a pleco and a large apple snail in my goldfish tank for three or four months as they are waiting for their larger tank which is almost ready and they have done wonderfully.

Your common plec is going to need a new home in the future he will get way to big for a 29 g. tank...I have one that I'll have to find a new home for in my 55g..they get to be about 12 inches..so be ready

As the others have said I would lose the heater in the goldfish tank. If they are kept at higher temps it disturbs their metabolism and will shorten the lifespan.
