Hey I have a GSP in a 20 gal right now and I was wondering what some good ground cleaners were to cleanup all the mess that he makes. Are there fish that do this? Right now i think the only things that clean up his leftovers are the ghost shrimp. At night... but they dont come out when the light is on because of the puffer. :D

:edit: its FW right now

You could get a dwarf plec?
But yes there are plenty of bottom feeders that your local LFS could show you..most are inexpensive depending on how fancy you want.

What is a 'dwarf plec'? I have seen people mention these, but I don't know what L# tey are. Unless you mean just a plec that stays small, but is not a dwarf because it's meant to?

:dunno:

dwarf pl*co usually refers to an Otto. Ghost shrimp are the best ground cleaners out there though even if they do only come out at night my rainbow/red fin shark is okay at sucking food off the bottom but I would give him up in a minuet if I could get some ghost shrimp. Why not Corry's though? maybe a tadpole?.

Well you might want to stay away from plecs and corys if you plan to make it brackish, they dont generally get along with salt in the water. i'm not sure if loaches are salt tolerant but i think most might be. otos are cheap but again check up to see if they can tolerate the brackish conditions that the puffer will need(if he does, not too knowledgeable on puffers but the more i read about them the more i want to research they sound very interesting!)

Scaleless fish in general are salt intolerant, that would include Corys and loaches. For brackish tanks, get brackish fish, you will be stressing any non brackish fish that you put in there, even if they survive initially, they will not live as long, the osmotic pressure overworks the kidney which burns out much quicker then it otherwise would.
