Good Brand Of Betta Pellet Foods?

I've been recently feeding my Betta a variety of live (but safe) foods that I have found. (mosquito larvae, earthworms -properly washed-, ants, etc.) Now, I've decided to stop with the fancy treatment and start feeding some pellets to make sure he is getting proper nutrition. At first, I thought he was picky from being switched from live food to pellets. Then I noticed, the pellets are WAY too big for him! He tries to eat it a few times, then swims away. Then, it settles to the bottom, thus making my tank dirty. They are Wardley brand pellets (I usually find them one of the cheap brands that you wouldn't really buy for any fish), and I really don't want to feed him them anymore. But, I also don't want him to starve. I luckily found some ant larvae that he enjoys to feed him until I can find a good brand of food. So, what brand of Betta pellets have you found are the best? (I am not just looking for ones that are small enough, and enjoyed by the fish, but possibly nutritional ones too, that bring out the color in them. )

Yes I also recommend New Life Spectrum or Omega One Betta Buffet. Hikari recently downgraded their ingredients

that hikari betta bio gold has something in it that makes bettas love it.

it is the only food my white dragonscale will eat now.

My betta seems to prefer New Life Spectrum, the pellets are small and easy for him to eat. Although I occasionally try to give him Omega One, he is reluctant to eat them, perhaps because they are larger than NLS. It could also be because he doesn't seem to like change. When I do a water change which results in a slight rearrangement of his furniture (plants), he seems to get a little upset. I dropped the Hikari some time ago, he doesn't seem to like them at all. He gets freeze dried blood worms occasionally, which he scarfs up. I did give him some finely minced raw salmon one time - never again. He wouldn't eat pellets for two days after that! Try NLS and Omega One.

I recommend New Life Spectrum also. My betta loves those pellets. If you are looking for a pellet alternative, I bought seachem nutridiet fly larvae and my little girl also loves those. (Even more than her pellets) It's nice to feed as a treat, not as an everyday thing.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have picked up Hikari Betta Bio-Gold only because they seemed to be the "older" type (no wheat flour, MSG, or any of that other nasty stuff they put in for flavoring). They are about 10 times smaller than the previous pellet! He likes them too!

That's a good find! You might want to stock up on those because once the store sells out you will have a harder time finding the old kind.
