By looking at my fish tank specs at the bottom, what would be a good bottom feeder to add to my tank to get some of the food off the bottom if I have any room in it. All ideas would help. Also I've had my tank for 1 month if that helps too.
:stupid:

corys, kulies, chain loaches there are quite a few but these are popular ones and are all great. but must be kept in a group

My personal opinion is that you're fairly heavily stocked for a ten gallon already. I'm not sure what your filtration is like, nor how often you do water changes, but if you're wanting to add some bottom dwellers, how about a few otocinclus cats? They stay very small, they're cute, and they're good little algae eaters, too. I would get at least 3. If you want to keep that many fish in a tank that size, however, I would recommend dual filtration and twice weekly water changes.

Btw, you said your tank has been up for a month; did you do a fishless cycle first? If not, you're probably not finished the cycling process and should definitely not add any more fish for at least a few more weeks.

Since your tank is heavily stocked I'd go with ghost shrimp. They will find anything that falls to the bottom of the tank. They are really very interesting, dirt cheap about 3 for $1.00us and don't count in the fish per gallon rule. my ghost shrimp!

Definitely corys. They won't harass the other fish, are peaceful, are great at finding food. Most species stay small and there are so many different species there is one to please everyone. They are also very active durring the day and add movement and personality to the aquarium. Best to keep at least two or three together as most species tend to interact/ school together.
Because they stay small they are great for 10 gallon aquariums. I would not hesitate to add a few to your tank as long as it is done cycling and you do regular water changes. I don't like the one inch per gallon rule. A five inch oscar produces much more waste than 5 one inch neons. Also variables such as filter efficiency and how often water changes are done effect how many fish can be kept healthy in a given aquarium. What kind of filter do you use?

Hi shortd81 :)

If you have food accumulating at the bottom of the tank, the fact is that you're feeding too much. :/ You should not get bottom feeders and think that they can survive on leftovers. Each fish has its own dietary requirements and bottom feeders are no exception.

Now, I would recommend corys if you want fish for the bottom of your tank. They are peaceful little fish and it's hard to find anyone who isn't happy with them. But, your 10 gallon tank is way too overcrowded for them. They are schooling fish and you would need 2 at the very least. More is better with corys.

It would be better to wait for them until you have a larger tank.

I suggest u get a cory a few of them because if u get a pleco it will grow to big for the tank unless u have a big tank?? -_-
