I will be coming to England in July/August and wanted to use the opportunity to have a look around in some shops and maybe pick up some equipment. Anyone that can help me with some good addresses in and around London?

Another question: electrical equipment normally runs on 220V, or can it also be used for 120?

Thanks in advance!

no electrical equipment won't work on 120V, you would need a transformer or international adaptor.
however I do have a good tip for you.
buy some light bulbs as they are designed to run on a higher voltage
using them on a lower voltage will increase their life.
I saw a show on discovery that showed this and the UK bulb on an American circuit lasted for, on average, 20times longer.
most UK bulbs are a bayonet fitting, but many place still carry a limited range of Edison screw (ES). (I know the USA uses mainly ES, not sure about Mexico)

Makes my mouth water.... A pity that I won't be able to export any fish....
The tip on the lightning is good! I will check the fitting carefully. However, how will it work with determining the WPG if the voltage is different? Or doesn't that have an influence on it? I am clearly a layman when it comes to electricity.....

on light bulbs the current has no effect on it, except as I have said above.
