My corry's spawned last week and i put the eggs in to a breeder net, I was away working alot this week and one of my other fish in the tank manged to get in and eat them all. :X

Then today when i came home, i found 3 eggs on the glass.... w00t

As i watched the tank for a while i seen the female taking the sperm from the male, and her riding up the glass and scattering eggs everywhere! PANIC STATIONS! (*I want to do it right this time*)

Got in the car and went and bought a 24 x 15 x 12 tank and hood. Filled it with tank water, moved my 4 corrys. then the eggs.

Mama fish has layed another 12 eggs in this tank too. I have put a filter that has been in my main tank for 6 months in, it is runing on the lowest flow rate. (Main tank still has a internal and an external running)

So my question is what next? Is it just a waiting game? :)

get a sponge filter for the tank the young are going to hatch in. Also make sure they are in the tank on their own. the reasons are

1. a power filter will suck them in and kill then (mistake i made with my first spawn!)

2. They will be eaten by the parents or anything else in the tank :)

w00t, I have fry! Can see 2 at the moment... So excited! I have liquifry, I can't get microworms over here. I will check ebay in a sec!

This has got everyone in the house excited! :D

Nothern Ireland.

Ordered a kit off ebay, £2.80.

One of my females is looking rather ripe, another water change and we could have more :hey:

Congrats. It's always a wonderful feeling when you've got your cories to breed for you and actually get the eggs to hatch.

Just remember to only feed the babies at 2-3 days old. Before hand they won't touch anything and the food will just sit (I know you have them in a breeding net, but it does take a while to pass through the net).

Good luck and what JollySue said, we need some pics. :good:

:D

:good:

we need pics

Too small to get a good picture of. Just counted 12 fry. :D

Here is the set up tho. (the filter in the fry tank isnt running, just in there because i have no where else to put it.)
