Goldfish X Gold/chinese Barb

in one of my tanks a couple of years ago i had a gold barb and goldfish that were inseperable, they used to dance/wiggle/court, highly doubt it but could these fish breed?
when looking at them there were a lot of similarities in shape etc

No they can't crossbreed.

They have to be in the same Genus to even possible crossbreed (Be it naturally or artificially)

Gold Barb - Puntius Genus
Goldfish - Carassius Genus
