So i'm sitting here on the computer watching my Goldfish tank and noticed the goldfish keeps swimming in the same spot making the loop over and over again. I'm posting a video because i think it's odd behavior or he's just having fun. Been going at it an hour now.

Quite normal behaviour by the looks of things, I think he can see you and is trying to get your attention, my fish will follow me around the tank in this manner if I stay on one side of the tank they will do that over and over.

it looks like he is just trying to get your attention, my goldies used to do that too. they would do that until i feed them..... there crazy little things, arent they

He hasn't much choice but to swim small loops, he really would be happier in a bigger tank.
You say he's been in there 5 years? I had a fancy goldfish like that & he was much bigger than that at 3 years old.
I rehomed him to a friends 5 foot tank& he's doubled again in size.
Your White clouds would also love more space, as they may be small, but they swim very fast & need a good length of tank

I'm just going to chip in here and say that for 5 years old that fish is pretty small. But saying that he does look healthy. As for the swimming , its inevitable with such an odd shaped body fantails do swim like they swallowed a brick. Maybe give him squashed cooked peas to keep his digestion going, as flakes will lead to swimming inbalances which is what I see slightly going on.

Nice looking fish though :)

I know he is small but he's been in a 20 gallon by himself since it got him. Maybe he's just meant to stay small.

Nice looking fish though :)
