Goldfish rescue HELP!!

For the past month i have seen this goldfish in our lfs his bottomhalf of his face is missing!!!!! anyway yesterday i bought im for 75p he is feeding fine and is about 3 inches. what i want to know is what can it be and if there is anything i can do for him although it seems to be bothering me more than him.

sounds like he was born this way. a lot of deformed fish are usually culled when young, but he got through. it wont grow back so as long as he is feeding ok then he will be fine, just look strange.

i think hed be fine but he might have to be seperated from other fish because he might be slower eating and not get much food from greedy friends

i got a one eyed figure 8 puffer fish - couldnt resist him when i saw him in the shop for ages, theres no obvious scarring or anything and it doesnt seem to cause him any discomfort or problems so i'm guessing its a birth defect too. if theres no signs of infection and hes eating ok then fingers crossed he will be ok.
